We help people understand how trauma affects them as a whole person and work with them to reunify their thoughts, emotions, and body. We have advanced training that can offer symptom relief and a path out of feeling hopeless. The good news is that with time and focus, most people can become symptom-free and manage difficulties from a place of inner strength. Our counselors have advanced training on how the brain and body respond to and hold onto the effects of trauma. Our team understands how trauma can have a lasting impact on people’s perspective, relationships, life story, daily functioning and how its effects can lead to feelings of extreme depression and anxiety as well as being misunderstood by others.
Accepting new clients! Hi There! My name is Olivia and I want to let you know I understand that life can be challenging much more than we can handle. However, by doing some therapy, your perspective may shift to your benefit and you’d be closer to meeting your goals. If things are little more complicated, we may need a little more than just few sessions. Whatever your need I am sure we can sort it out and discuss in more detail. I would love to hear from you! I am currently accepting patients virtually. I mainly use a client centered approach, allowing you to unpack your worries in the order you desire to release and share. I ask questions, as needed to progress towards the goals you desire to meet. Modalities I use include: Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy. Aside from being a therapist, I'm also a mother to three wonderful children and have been married since 2010. I have had my own trials and tribulations and I understand what it's like to be on the other side of the therapeutic process. My own journey has allowed me to better connect and understand humans on a deeper level.
I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, understood, and accepted—exactly as you are. You might find yourself feeling constantly anxious or on edge, caught up in worries that never seem to quiet down. Maybe you’re often hard on yourself, struggling with self-doubt or guilt, or noticing that it’s hard to feel joy or motivation the way you used to. When life starts to feel like this, it can be difficult to see a way forward or imagine things feeling different. My approach is person-centered, meaning our work is guided by your needs, your pace, and what feels most meaningful to you. I enjoy working with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and the lasting impact of complex trauma. In our work together, I may draw from compassion-focused and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you understand yourself better, and adjust the beliefs you hold about yourself, others, and the world. Through this process, we’ll work toward cultivating more enjoyment, confidence, and self-compassion in your everyday life.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (in the states of Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio) who has been practicing for over 10 years. I have years of experience working with college students as I am a former College Counseling Center Director and worked in counseling centers as well as have seen college students in my private practice. I have years of experience providing both clinically and culturally competent therapy (meaning I collaborate with students to address topics they want to in therapy using tools/strategies that have been proven helpful and I take into consideration a student's various social identities and how that may impact how they experience the world). I find that I work well with students who are working through life transitions, adjustments, relationship stressors, experiencing anxiety(including those who experience social anxiety) depression, a desire to increase their self-esteem, racial trauma, or are in need increasing their overall coping skills.
From our practice website: "We understand that going to see a therapist can be a very difficult decision. We are committed to ensuring our clients are treated with the utmost respect and sensitivity. Initially, we work with the the client to gain an understanding of their concerns. From there, we create and implement a treatment plan geared to the client (or families) goals. We actively and continuously seek feedback to make sure that our clients are getting their needs met. Research has consistently demonstrated that the quality of the relationship between a therapist and their client is at the core of whether therapy will be successful. Using our skills and experiences, we work to create a safe and trusting environment to meet your goals. We use a strength-based approach in working with our clients. Often, we build upon these strengths to create interventions that will help. We utilize evidenced based treatments whenever possible. This means the approaches we use are well researched and found to be helpful in addressing the presenting challenges. Our team continues to receive training and professional development as we believe that as therapists we are never done learning. When we work with children and teens, we believe that parents are the expert. We believe parental involvement is a critical component of the treatment. Our approach is to create a “team environment” that includes the child, family, school (when necessary), physician, and therapist to provide the optimal level of support to address whatever problems the child is experiencing. Since the child is the most important person in this effort, he or she becomes the “captain” of this team. We will always address your child respectfully and in a developmentally appropriate manor. We know and appreciate that you are entrusting us with you or a family member’s care. We will do everything we can to make our work together a helpful and enriching experience."
