I serve a diverse range of clients with mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, and relational issues. I also actively practice LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy and am currently receiving training to become a WPATH Certified Gender Specialist to better serve the transgender, non-binary, and gender queer communities. I tend to meet my clients where they are based on their past personal, cultural, and societal experiences. The client and I work on cultivating mutual empathy and respect through the counselor-client relationship, developing resiliency, and acknowledging and validating cultural and societal challenges. I am here to help anyone who is struggling with current challenges in their lives, no matter how big or small they may seem. Although our past tends to dictate where we currently are in the present, we can work together in order to change the outcome of the future.

Hello! I'm Jacobia Williams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a passion for helping others to live their best lives. I've worked as a social worker in settings such as therapeutic foster care, hospitals, counseling, and schools for the last 20 years. My goal is to support you on your life's journey. We are all unique and have stories to tell, but it is important to be the narrator of that story. Many of us have faced challenges with our health, jobs, families, and relationships. Many have lost loved ones, felt overwhelmed, and have been stressed out. Often times, our loved ones and children may be feeling those stressors also. We want to teach ourselves and children that it is important to take care of our physical and emotional health. Seeking help to fine tune our coping skills is a courageous act. Allow me the opportunity to partner with you in developing the skills and tools needed to navigate your world. We want to assist you with living a healthy and happy life. If you are reading this then I invite you to take a moment to appreciate what you have done. Despite the pain you are in, you have taken an important step toward change. Those whom I work with all have one thing in common—pain. Regardless of its form, nervousness, sadness, substance misuse, difficult thoughts, and/or traumatic memories, attempting to cope with this pain has led to more suffering. There now exists a gap between the life they are living and the one they desire. Life has become about avoiding, numbing, or distracting the pain away. Does this sound like you? If so, know this—you’re not broken, you’re stuck. My approach to stuckness involves working together to explore new methods for interacting with pain, ones that don’t result in more suffering. We will work to cultivate clarity around where you have been and where you’d like to go; giving you a deeper understanding of how to create a rich and meaningful life despite the pain. My counseling draws from a foundation of empathy, positive regard, and congruence. I incorporate ACT, CBT, and CPT into my work. Utilizing various treatment modalities allows me to tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. Add in a healthy dose of metaphors, humor, and hands-on practice to create an experience that is informative and transformational.

Meaningful relationships help maintain mental and physical health and can be an antidote to stress. When our core relationships are struggling or when we're struggling to build core relationships, the stress and loneliness can permeate all aspects of our lives. Relational stress and loneliness are reasons many people seek the support of a therapist. Through therapy, clients can explore relationship patterns and barriers preventing them from making and maintaining meaningful and warm connection with others. Treatment can include treating symptoms of social anxiety, exploring discomfort with intimacy, navigating conflict, setting boundaries, and voicing needs. In addition to individual therapy, family and couple therapy can provide insight into system dynamics. Clients learn to recognize and change negative cycles and build deeper and more positive bonds. If you are dissatisfied with your relationships and are ready to work toward change, meeting with a therapist is a great place to start. If you’re not sure if individual, couple, or family therapy is the right choice, a free consultation with a therapist to discuss options can be helpful. If you think I might be a good fit, please reach out.

You may be the one who keeps it together for everyone else, always striving, always overanalyzing. But inside, you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or not quite “enough.” Whether you’re navigating anxiety, struggling in your relationships, or feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt, therapy can offer a space to breathe, reflect, and rebuild. I help teens and adults understand their inner world and reconnect with themselves. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real conversation. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck and how to move forward. I integrate tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy, and experiential therapy. Therapy with me isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating a space where you can be honest and supported without judgment. You’ll gain insight, learn how to manage your emotions with more confidence, and develop more secure relationships. If you're feeling unsure where to start, that’s okay. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out.
