Hello, I am Mary Brodsky, LCSW, and I have 25 years of experience helping people struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, childhood trauma, and work-related issues, among others. My practice was in New York City for most of my career, and many of my clients have been people in the arts. I have worked with clients of all ages, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and life circumstances. Also, I am open to exploring people’s spiritual and religious beliefs and have found this can be an essential part of healing in therapy. In my experience, a positive and supportive relationship with a skilled therapist has been most helpful and healing for clients. This relationship is something that I try to cultivate with each of my clients as a basis for our work together. My approach with clients is psychodynamic, eclectic, and insight-oriented, which means we will be looking at recurrent patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Psychodynamics seeks to heal by gaining emotional insight into the connection between past difficult experiences and current problems. As in cognitive behavioral approaches, I look at the content of thoughts, but understanding how and why those thought patterns developed is critical. Please be aware that our first few sessions will be for us to get to know one another and to evaluate, together, if we are a good fit and can work together effectively to help you to heal. Once we gain an initial understanding of your issues and goals, we will come up with how we may best address them. The path to healing is different for everyone, and you and I will together find the approach that is the most effective for you. This may include coming up with self-soothing or coping strategies, understanding and analyzing dreams, or looking at the impact of early trauma. You are unique, and I will adapt how I work with you accordingly. You may have many questions and concerns if this is your first time working with a therapist. I am always open to these and hope you will feel empowered to give me honest feedback about how you would like us to work together. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay!

Hi, I’m Sarah! I am a therapist, health coach, and certified yoga teacher who believes in holistic healing and the power of connection and compassion. I became a therapist because I am passionate about supporting people in living their best lives. I seek to empower individuals who are looking to better understand themselves, cope effectively with various life stressors, navigate relationship issues, work on self-esteem, or want to integrate mental health into their overall wellness. I also specialize in working with individuals struggling with disordered eating and negative body image.
So many students can feel overwhelmed… by choices, by things that need to be done, by relationships at home and at school, by worries about your own life and the broader world, by figuring out who you are… who you want to be… where you fit in… where you want to go. I want to help you grow to cope more easily with all that’s on your plate. I also specialize in supporting caregivers of all kinds. Do you have aging parents, a loved one with dementia or chronic illness, or children (perhaps with special needs) who need your care? Are you a health care worker, teacher, or volunteer? I want to help you balance caring for others with valuing and taking better care of yourself. When we work together, you are in charge; you drive the boat. I view my role as coach, pit crew, investigator, occasional guest lecturer, comic relief, gentle nudge, and trusted companion on your path. My work is all about your strengths and your vision–finding them, sorting between them, nurturing them to take you in directions you want to go. Our work is also about play: finding the courage and confidence to dream, to try, to try again, to try a different route. You can do both, staying present to enjoy as much as possible of your now while moving towards a future that makes your heart sing. All identities warmly welcome.
Are past childhood wounds affecting your relationships today? If you struggle to form or maintain emotional connections, or find yourself repeating unhealthy patterns, your inner child may still be carrying the weight of past trauma. I specialize in helping people understand how early experiences shape adult behavior, attachment styles, and difficulties in relationships. Together, we’ll uncover and heal the wounds from your past, giving a voice to the parts of you that were once silenced. It’s time to reconnect with your inner child, nurture their needs, and break free from the cycles that hold you back. My therapy style is rooted in psychodynamic principles. This means I’ll explore if you feel as though, messages you received as a child, are still causing problems in current relationships. We’ll then work together to heal these wounds while learning how to better cope with our inner child, and shake hands with them, with a touch of humor along the way. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, but I'm here to support you every step of the way. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed or uncertain, I'll provide guidance, validation, and comfort as you embark on your journey of healing and empowerment. Please feel free to reach out, and I guarantee a response within 24 hours.

About Me: Hello, I'm Nhi, a dedicated first-generation social work intern in my second year at Columbia University's School of Social Work. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Grinnell College and bring a deeply personal understanding of mental health challenges shaped by my own experiences as an Asian American in foster care. My journey has been profoundly influenced by the intersection of intergenerational trauma, immigration, and systemic inequalities, providing me with a unique perspective on the complexities of healing and resilience. My Approach: I believe that trauma and mental health struggles do not exist in a vacuum—they are often reflections of broader societal issues. Growing up in a family affected by intergenerational trauma, poverty, and systemic discrimination, I understand firsthand the cascading effects these forces can have on a person's mental and emotional well-being, even into adulthood. This insight drives my therapeutic approach, where I aim to provide a compassionate, culturally sensitive space for clients to explore their experiences and find healing. I bring extensive experience working with diverse populations and complex trauma. During my time as a case manager at a domestic violence shelter, I supported individuals and families from all walks of life, many of whom were dealing with overlapping traumas, including domestic violence, mental health struggles, homelessness, childhood trauma, and identity-based discrimination. This experience reinforced my belief that trauma and mental health challenges are often intertwined with larger societal issues. Mental health challenges can significantly impact daily functioning, even long after the precipitating events have occurred. In some cases, there may be no clear cause, yet the impact is still profound. Regardless of the situation, everyone deserves support in their healing journey. In my practice, I adopt a flexible, client-centered approach, tailoring my methods to meet each individual's unique needs and strengths. I utilize a range of therapeutic techniques, including trauma-informed therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I believe every person has the inherent capacity to navigate their challenges, and my role is to support, empower, and provide tools for their journey toward healing. What to Expect: In our work together, you can expect a supportive, non-judgmental environment where your experiences are honored, and your voice is central to the healing process. I am committed to understanding your story in its full context, recognizing the multiple layers of identity and experience that shape who you are. Whether you're dealing with personal trauma, managing day-to-day stressors, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I'm here to walk alongside you, providing the guidance and support you need. I am a pre-licensed therapist intern at Sol Health working under the supervision of Susan Chung, LCSW, MPH. If you feel stuck in the same patterns and lost on where to make a change, my approach is for you. Therapy can seem like an intimidating process to begin but I assure you it does not have to be that way. I offer therapy that is relational, relatable, realistic, and non judgmental. Our sessions will be about exploring where you want to be and how we can get you there, in a way that is collaborative, creative and resourceful. Together we can find ways to alleviate distress, build skills, and find tools that help outside our sessions in your day to day life. I strive to create a space that is empathetic, safe, and personal to you.
My practice offers psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy to help patients move beyond roadblocks toward personal growth. We see patients across the lifespan and have been privileged to help people work through some of the most personal struggles in their lives. Together, we can address problematic behaviors (e.g., insomnia, anger, procrastination), troubling emotions (e.g., depression, anxiety, anger, fear), maladaptive thought patterns (e.g., rumination, worry, self-criticism), and relationship issues (e.g., work, family, dating). Taking the first step toward approaching your challenges can be scary. Finding a therapist you trust and with whom you feel comfortable is one of the most important factors in helping you to move forward. My practice also offers comprehensive psychological assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. We use evidence-based assessment tools and methods grounded in research to conduct psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, and fitness for duty/disability evaluations. The results of these evaluations can be used to aid in diagnosis and treatment, facilitate the provision of special education services, support applications for accommodations at school or work, or provide evidence of fitness for employment. We offer specialized consultation services, as well. Please check out our website to learn more.

We are all hard-wired to feel and to connect to others, yet so many of us are scared of our feelings. We are afraid of being overwhelmed by them and of being dismissed or ignored by others if we share them. It is our fear of feeling and fear of revealing that causes us to experience symptoms of distress and disconnection from ourselves and from each other. In our sessions and through the psychotherapeutic model of AEDP, we focus on getting past this fear in order to fully embrace our feelings. Our work together is not about you simply retelling your story; it's about you embracing and sharing the emotions that come up as you tell it. By learning to be authentic and transparent with your feelings, you will feel calmer and more confident while experiencing deeper connections. Ultimately, your true self will emerge.
