I am a psychodynamically focused therapist. I work with college students who are facing a crucial transformation in their lives. Often, the change from high school to college can be overwhelming, isolating, and lonely. My goal is to establish a trusting relationship with you. I hope to create a safe enough space to talk about feelings and thoughts that are difficult to share with family and friends.

I am a queer feminist therapist who is body positive, sex-positive, anti-diet and HAES aligned, and I am committed to anti-racist work. My office is a safe and inclusive place for all.

I work with my clients on exploring underlying patterns, unresolved conflicts, and deep-seated emotional concerns that have been causing distress in their relationships with themselves and others. With authenticity and compassion, I work collaboratively with my clients through relationship and attachment issues, depression, anxiety, self-doubt, shame, loneliness, and childhood trauma, toward greater clarity and fulfillment. I foster a thoughtful space for navigating life transitions, complex family dynamics, questions of identity and purpose, as well as overall feelings of being stuck or lost. I understand that trust takes time and care to develop. Together, we’ll cultivate a relationship in which you can come to feel safe and free to express what’s troubling you. I’ll help you make better sense of what you’ve been struggling with and why, and support you in tuning into and working toward what well-being might look and feel like for you. Talking together with honesty and curiosity can deepen your understanding of yourself and your experiences and build resilience, which both support authentic, lasting growth. As this process unfolds, it can help you make changes that foster a more integrated sense of self, greater connection in relationships, and a stronger sense of meaning in life. Dwellness provides in-home therapeutic services to individuals and families across the lifespan via home-based and teletherapy practices. Our clinicians specialize in different developmental periods and therapeutic techniques, which allows for an individualized treatment approach to address each client’s challenges. Bringing psychotherapy into the home gives us the opportunity to help clients shape for the better an environment that often profoundly influences feelings of safety, comfort, and love. We aim to collaborate with clients, to draw upon their inherent resilience and resources and let go of what is in their way, in real time, in the environment in which they experience it. Together we can rebuild or redesign the emotional foundation of the home and cultivate new ways to relate to one another. Our clinicians, ranging from post-doctoral psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, and creative arts therapists, specialize in different developmental periods and therapeutic techniques, which allows for an individualized treatment approach to address each client’s challenges.

Welcome! I am a clinical psychologist and drama therapist, seeing individuals and couples in New York. I work with adults and teens ages 15+. Clients I work with are often seeking to reduce distress, trust themselves more, and feel more equipped in their life journeys. A primary aim of treatment is to increase self-awareness and connection to the body, freeing a more expansive self, and allowing old patterns and obstacles (i.e. emotional avoidance, self-criticism) to melt away. Therapy can help reveal how your past is impacting your present, which often leads to self-compassion, and healing and change in the present. Perhaps you are wanting to feel more comfortable with the unknown, whether that be challenging emotions, uncertainty about the future, or existential questions, like what is the meaning of my one precious life? We are living through uncertain times collectively and individually, and therapy with me is a space where these questions are welcomed. I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of healing, and I show up in the room with warmth and authenticity. My approach is integrative. I have advanced training in an attachment-based psychodynamic approach called Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy, and in experiential, creative, somatic-based approaches including drama therapy and internal family systems. I also practice mindfulness and am an artist myself, and this informs the work I do. My approach is person-centered, which means I adapt treatment based on the unique individual(s) I am sitting with. I have extensive experience in working with LGBTQ+ clients, those with a history of trauma, folks navigating illness, and other healers and artists. I am part of Mount Sinai Health Partners, and remain involved in training of doctoral trainees at Mount Sinai. I am presently on the faculty of the NYU Masters in Drama Therapy program, and was previously an Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Department at Mount Sinai. I have worked and trained in hospitals, including in adult and adolescent transgender healthcare, in outpatient centers, Veterans hospitals, and counseling centers.

College is a time of enormous adjustments, especially for students who identify as LGBTQIA+. Alongside the pressures to be successful academically, there are numerous personal challenges to navigate in terms of sex and sexuality, relationships, identity, social communities, and drug and alcohol use. In my work with queer college students, we take the time to understand the unique challenges of this time for you in particular, and I work to cultivate your abilities to meet these challenges with resourcefulness and creativity. We also work to bring you into greater awareness of the unconscious features of your mind, in order to know yourself better and to resolve deep-rooted conflicts.

You might look like you have things together on the outside—but internally, you’re dealing with anxiety, overthinking, and feeling like everyone else has it figured out except you. Sound familiar? College can be a time of growth and excitement, but I know it can also feel overwhelming and isolating, too. I work with college students who are dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship drama, and that constant “what am I doing with my life?” feeling. I’m not a “sit in silence” therapist; I take an active and collaborative approach, which means I’ll ask questions, give feedback, and help you actually make sense of what’s going on (and what to do about it). I'll give you practical tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life, and together we’ll work on building confidence and setting boundaries so you can work towards feeling more like yourself and less "stuck" in patterns that aren't serving you. If you’re ready for therapy that feels real, supportive, and actually helpful, let’s connect.
