Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest people amongst us need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s more challenging problems. Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for a better tomorrow. You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, but when you do, you will feel confident that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place and being a better you. My practice specializes in treating individuals, couples and families, and through years of experience, I’m confident that no problem is too great to overcome. Through therapy, there is always a way to address the issues you face and learn coping strategies to help you both right now and in the future.
You're out on your own and somehow now expected to juggle classes, deadlines, social plans you don’t even have the energy for, and the constant pressure to ‘be better.’ Maybe you’re asking yourself: Am I falling behind? Am I doing enough? Why does this feel so much harder for me than everyone else? I work with ambitious students and young adults navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, trauma, and life transitions - like starting college, moving out of the dorms or from college to career, adjusting to grad school, shifting friendships, or figuring out what adulthood is even supposed to look like. In therapy, we’ll untangle what’s keeping you stuck and build tools that actually work in real life. You don’t have to be falling apart to get support. If you look like you’re holding it together on the outside, but inside you’re overthinking, panicking, or numb to it all, I get it. Together, we’ll find your middle ground where you can grow, slow down without losing your flow, and align your actions with your goals and values.
At Balance Mental Health Counseling we have a list of many providers who are interested in working with you on any of our specialty areas such as depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, and trauma. Therapy sessions are goal-directed, future focused, solution focused, and client centered. The therapeutic orientations practiced are Cognitive-Behavioral Mindfulness therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Therapy is a time to learn about oneself, and to apply the skills learned in therapy, to the outside world.
I am a licensed creative arts therapist specializing in drama therapy and psychodrama. I am here to guide you towards a healthier, more balanced and fulfilling life as an adult. Together, we examine your life journey, the roles you play along the way, and the relationships you have with others as well as yourself. Sessions are held weekly for 45 minutes, during which we may dialogue, use metaphor, or embody action techniques. All forms of creative expression are welcome if you should choose to include them in your treatment.
I am committed to supporting college students in navigating the emotional challenges that come with school, relationships, and personal growth. In a safe and non-judgmental space, we’ll explore mindfulness techniques, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and self-compassion to help you build resilience and thrive. Together, we’ll identify patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, develop practical coping skills, and work toward creating a more balanced, fulfilling life. I also specialize in helping college-aged individuals and couples with communication, conflict resolution, and emotional connection, drawing from my training as a Level 2 Couples Clinician by the Gottman Institute. Whether you're navigating personal struggles or relationships, I’ll help you gain insight, strengthen your emotional toolkit, and find lasting solutions. I believe everyone has the potential to grow and thrive, and my goal is to empower you to tap into your strengths. Let’s work together to create a personalized roadmap for success, well-being, and connection during this exciting, yet sometimes challenging, time of your life.
