I work best with students who are doing their best but still feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally tired. Many are balancing school, relationships, and personal pressures, and may struggle with overthinking, self-doubt, or expressing their needs. Therapy is a warm, supportive space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. Together, we focus on helping you feel more grounded, understood, and confident as you navigate college life.

Let's be real. Anxiety is a b!tch. You know the kind I mean. Heart racing, chest tight, skin crawling, lying awake at 3am when you have to be up at 6. The kind that doesn't care how put-together you look on the outside. Most of my clients grew up in environments where they had to stay on guard just to get through the day. Emotionally unsafe, physically unsafe, or both. They learned early that keeping quiet, going along with things, and making themselves small was the smartest way to avoid getting hurt. And it worked, for a while. The problem is, survival strategies don't just turn off. So now you're people-pleasing in relationships you're not happy in. Biting your tongue when you should be speaking up. Telling yourself "it's fine" when it's really, really not. You know that voice in your head that says I should be over this by now? That's not clarity. That's the trauma talking. Here's what I see in my clients before they start working with me: they're exhausted. Not tired, exhausted. Drained by the constant hum of worry. Distant from the people they care about. Too spent to return a text, too anxious to be present, too guarded to actually rest. They carry it all in their chest like a weight they've stopped noticing because it's been there so long. You deserve something different. Not "managed" anxiety. Not white-knuckling your way through the week. Actually different. Setting your own terms. Saying no without a three-paragraph apology. Showing up in your relationships without shrinking. Feeling okay in your own skin without needing someone else's approval first. If you want to ditch the anxiety, break out of people-pleasing, and finally start living on your own terms, I'd love to help you get there.

I specialize in working with young adults and college students who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues...or all of the above. WELCOME! I'm so glad you're here. Many of the people I work with are adults who’ve carried more than their fair share — the ones who look capable on the outside but feel anxious or disconnected on the inside. They've usually spent years masking ADHD/AuDHD, are deeply sensitive, and/or are trying to heal from complex trauma (CPTSD). If this sounds like you, I want you to know you're not alone, and you don’t have to keep trying to “figure it out” by yourself. I won’t hand you a checklist or tell you to breathe it away - I promise! Therapy with me is about noticing what’s alive for you and finding ways to move through patterns that have kept you stuck. With over 25 years of experience, and decades dedicated to my own recovery, I offer both professional expertise and a deeply lived understanding to our sessions. I’m quirky, a little unconventional, and definitely human. In our work together, we'll go beyond simply talking about your life. I'll help you to shift out of over-thinking and connect with the wisdom of your heart and body. That’s where your strength and self-trust already live, and where the parts of you that know how to heal can be heard. My therapy dog, Leasel, often joins us, offering her calm presence when words aren’t enough. I draw from approaches like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Therapy, integrated with Conscious Living principles. This work helps us uncover patterns that have been shaping your experiences and guides you toward change that's meaningful and actually lasts. Why I May Be A Good Fit For You I believe complex trauma shapes how we connect and move through the world—but those patterns can soften when we’re met with compassion and someone who’s been there. I grew up in a family that looked good on the outside but was marked by addiction and narcissism and it taught me how essential it is to be seen for who we truly are. I'm passionate about helping sensitive people know that hope is real, no matter what. I believe healing happens when we can be honest with ourselves and experience real connection. I show up as a real person—warm and down-to-earth. I also believe animals and nature offer healing when words fall short. I care deeply about neurodivergent folks, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and creating space for anyone who’s ever felt like they're on the outside looking in. I look forward to connecting with you!

Life can sometimes throw us into situations that seem impossible to handle. Whether it’s personal relationships, work, or financial issues, it can feel like everything is falling apart. You feel inadequate and powerless as a result, like you can't manage everything on your own. Additionally, you may feel isolated and misunderstood, experiencing shame and self-blame for circumstances beyond your control. It could be a past experience that troubles you, or a current situation that is overwhelming and unmanageable.

Hello my name is Billie. Like so many people I grew up in a conservative town that made it clear that they saw Queerness as "evil" and "destroying the family." I started Texas Queer Counseling to allow people the space to figure out who they are, away from the expectations society places on us. As a transwoman I know the state of Texas has is not a safe place to live. It is also important to find the joy of being Queer. Don't be as miserable as the people trying to criminalize our lives. I offer a complimentary 30 minute session.

Are you caught in a loop of asking yourself “was there something about me that made them treat me this way?” Or “am I being sensitive, overreacting, is it my fault?”. Sometimes it’s hard to make sense of our experiences in relationships. Therapy can offer a space for clarity, healing, and transformation. Along with learning how to create a felt sense of safety in relationships. In therapy we will learn to honor both the wisdom of your survival strategies and your desire for change. Therapy can be a place to learn to hold discomfort and transform self esteem. Part of my role is help co-regulate, taking discomfort that individually feels overwhelming and holding it together. Submit your request for therapy services here on Thriving Campus or use the link to my website and schedule your Free 15 minutes consultation. I take the insurance providers listed below and my private pay fee is $150 per 50 minute session. Currently I only offer online teletherapy sessions. I look forward to hearing from you!
