You’re juggling a lot. Classes, work, friends, family, money, maybe figuring out who you are and what you actually want from life. And somewhere in the middle of all that, your mental health is supposed to “keep up.” My practice is here for that in-between space—when things aren’t exactly falling apart, but they’re definitely not okay. I work with college students who are dealing with anxiety, overthinking, burnout, relationship stress, grief, and big life transitions. Together, we slow things down, sort through the noise, and build practical tools you can actually use in real life. Sessions are judgment-free, conversational, and tailored to you—no pressure to be “put together” or say the perfect thing. You can come as you are: exhausted, unsure, overwhelmed, or just curious about therapy. If you’re ready to feel a little less stuck and a little more like yourself again, you’re in the right place.

Hi, I’m glad you’re here. College can be exciting—but also overwhelming. If you're feeling stuck, stressed, or unsure about your next steps, you're not alone. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I’ve spent 25 years working with students as a Dean and Provost. I understand the pressure to succeed, the identity questions, and the quiet burnout that can come with trying to do it all. I work best with students who are thoughtful, motivated, and ready to talk things through—even if they’re not sure where to start. Whether you're navigating a big transition, feeling anxious or lost, or just need a space to breathe and be real, I’m here to help. No judgment. No jargon. Just support that makes sense for where you are right now. Let’s talk—you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Hi, I'm Dr G. You're likely here because you're feeling alone, stuck, hurting, or overwhelmed...I get it. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I obtained both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have over 11 years of experience in nursing working in various fields and with a variety of patient populations. I have experience working with patients needing mental health services both inpatient and outpatient. I am dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with mental health concerns by increasing access to those needing mental health treatment while providing support, compassion, and understanding. I am here for the patient and want to ensure that all his or her needs are met. I have a passion for working in mental health services and genuinely care about each individual. I listen to his or her concerns and history to develop a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan with the patient. The patients preferences and needs will lead the treatment approach initially and going forward. I include the patient in all aspects of care. Listening to his or her concerns, symptoms, and history is an important starting point in developing a diagnosis. The diagnosis is thoroughly discussed with the patient and I will answer any questions that present. Following the diagnosis, a plan of care is developed with the patients input. Patient preferences for therapy, medication, or both, are included in the treatment plan, and any referrals necessary will be made. Medication, if necessary and agreed upon, will be called in to the patients preferred pharmacy and any remaining questions or concerns will be addressed. A follow-up visit to assess ongoing effectiveness of the treatment plan will be made. At consecutive appointments, any necessary changes to the treatment plan will be made. However, I am available for concerns, questions, or needs that may arise prior to follow-up visits when needed.

We are not biologically wired to cope with life alone. Even if we are not "alone" sometimes the ones we love lack the ability to fully support or understand us. Even if they may be a solid part of our support system. This is where therapy comes in. I specialize in guiding individuals through the intricate terrain of strong emotions. I have completed extensive training and research on healing strategies targeted for those trying to heal from adverse life experiences, trauma, ptsd, c-ptsd (attatchment/early childhood wounds) anxiety, depression, anger, and borderline personality disorder. **Treatment Modalities:** I am trained in EMDR, designed to reduce emotional distress due to traumatic life experiences. I also have special training in its use for helping those with borderline personality disorder and early childhood wounds, and anxiety-related issues. EMDR is considered a first-line treatment for trauma and has been shown to reduce emotional distress and accelerate the healing process. In addition, I use cognitive processing therapy (CPT), which has similar aims through different treatment techniques. Somatic (mind-body) techniques are also incorporated throughout the treatment process. We can talk about what will be the best fit for you. I also incorporate dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) skills for emotion regulation to tackle issues such as anxiety, depression, and anger. My clients will have take-home strategies that they can use outside of therapy. If you think we would be a good fit, I can be reached by call, text, or email.
