Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
Originally from Chicago, I moved to Colorado to pursue my Master’s at the University of Denver, which confirmed my passion for social work. Before opening my private practice, I worked extensively with survivors of intimate partner abuse, individuals in recovery and couples in crisis. This experience provided me with deep expertise in attachment therapy and reinforced the vital importance of trauma-informed care. My background has shaped a clinical approach rooted in curiosity and a drive to understand the motivations behind actions. This perspective allows me to serve my clients through relational lens, focusing on meaningful connection and growth. If you choose to work with me, you will find a collaborative environment defined by non-judgment and openness. Regardless of your goals, your identities, or where you are in your journey, it would be my honor to support you and your loved ones. I look forward to being your advocate as we work together to reach your goals.
As a psychologist, I partner with clients to help them heal from raw emotional pain, recognize their inner strengths, and build resiliency in the face of life’s biggest challenges. My style is one that is warm and nurturing while also direct and honest. If you’re feeling stuck, not good enough, lonely, overwhelmed, devastated, or ashamed, you are not alone. I have dedicated my career to learning gold standard treatments to ensure that when clients have the courage to reach out for help, I am able to offer treatment interventions that they can trust will make a difference. I am a clinical specialist with expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, depression, complicated grief (suicide loss, perinatal loss), and unwanted sexual experiences (rape, sexual assault, harassment, violence). I began practicing in 2005 and have been a licensed psychologist since 2010.
Struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or however your distress manifests makes us feel trapped, in cycles of outbursts or avoidance, and coping in ways that are not sustainable. We blame ourselves bringing us further from feeling connected and closer to feeling ashamed. Typically what we see on the surface is mistaken for ourself and is our way to cope with the issues that lie underneath. Therapy is creating a compassionate and purposeful environment to dive into deeper issues, seeing how these issues present in daily life, and developing relevant skills to free ourselves from these issues. I utilize a psychodynamic, relational, and an EMDR based framework to help you dive inward to find underlying issues. I use mindfulness meditation based practices to help my clients build evidence based skills to move through their issues and into inner strength. My integrative approach is here to help you find practical application in daily life. We can begin on a path aiming at feeling present and competent in daily life, building a flow with your emotional experiences, and towards feelings of wholeness in life. Click email or call to get in touch and visit my website for more information. I'll find a time that works for you to get you started soon.
Individual counseling is a team effort between the client and counselor. Therapists use a personal and independent approach to identify clients goals, and work along side them to develop the self-awareness and skills it takes to reach their goals. I am so glad you stopped by! I am eager to work with college students, like yourself, and have a background in working with both undergrad and grad students in the Dallas area. In therapy, I offer a safe and confidential relationship, where you can hope to gain self-esteem, relevant skills, and personal strength, learning to more fully trust yourself and others. A great deal of my clients are wrestling with depression, anxiety, and self-worth due to family/childhood issues and relational struggles that tend to become more apparent once they have entered college. Together, we dig into these hard conversations and I help you relate differently to anxiety, pain, fear, and sadness, while also coming alongside you in creating the life you desire. Finding a therapist you connect with is an important aspect of effective therapy. I will serve you with respect and empathy while encouraging you in your personal journey of growth. I am both honored and committed to meeting you where you are, learning where you want to go, and helping you find the best way there. I hope to talk to you soon!

Hello. I am Dr. Rhoda Lipscomb and I am a certified sex therapist and coach who specializes in alternative means of sexual expression. I work with those who need help with issues of AB/DL, BDSM, kink, fetishes, open relationships (swinging, polyamory, designer) as well as issues of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transition, and stress reduction. I have 30 years experience in the field of mental health counseling and have been in private practice for 16 years. I provide all services virtually using video conferencing. While I provide psychotherapy to those within the state of CO, I also offer mental health and sexuality coaching for those in other states. Many college aged adults can benefit from working with someone who specializes in sexuality, however most sex therapists and coaches in private practice charge rates that are difficult for college students to afford. I have made my fees on Thriving Campus much lower than my usual rate so it can be more accessible for young adults in college who are struggling with sexual issues as well as anxiety, self-esteem and life transition.
Hi! I’m Kimberly Carlin, LPC, and I work with women over 18 who want support navigating the ups and downs of life. Between work, relationships, family responsibilities, and personal growth, it’s normal to feel stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to cope. I help women work through: * Anxiety, stress, and burnout * Relationship challenges and setting boundaries * Trauma or emotional abuse * Grief or major life transitions * Body image and disordered eating * Pressure to be “perfect” or meet high expectations * Life transitions such as parenting, career changes, or caregiving responsibilities Here’s what therapy with me looks like: CBT: Helps you spot unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier ones. ACT: Teaches you to accept feelings and focus on what matters most. Somatic Therapy: Uses your body to release stored stress, tension, and anxiety. IFS (Internal Family Systems): Helps you explore different parts of yourself and understand conflicting thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. Inner Child Work: Helps you understand how past experiences shape your feelings today. EMDR: A specialized approach that helps painful memories feel less overwhelming. Christian Counseling and Prayer (optional): For women who desire, therapy can integrate Biblical principles, prayer, and exploring God’s perspective of who you are to guide healing, self-worth, and decision-making. I provide online therapy and am licensed in multiple states, so you can continue care even if you travel, work remotely or move. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel understood, gain clarity, and build tools to navigate life with more confidence, self-compassion, and faith-based guidance if desired. Whether you’re feeling stressed, struggling with relationships, wanting to process trauma, or navigating major life transitions, I’m here to support you. At Ellie - Aurora City Center we strive to meet our clients where they're at to help them get where they want to be. We don’t believe people are broken. But we also don’t believe that “fine” is the ceiling of their potential. We believe therapy is part of the ongoing work of being human. Being human is the hardest thing any of us will ever do and while there is no universal map or linear path, billions of people have walked this terrain before and their collective wisdom across multiple dimensions is essential to framing our understanding of ourselves and each other There’s insight, strategy, and perspective available but no one can walk the path for anyone else. Our role as therapists isn’t to dictate or diagnose from a distance. Nor are we passive companions. We walk with our clients, actively supporting their journeys with clarity, accountability, and emotional safety. Therapy is where insight becomes action, and where healing isn’t handed over—it’s created, felt, and lived. We promise to show up, bring our full humanity, and help clients travel their paths with courage and clarity.

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York, Arizona, and Colorado with seven years of experience. I work with people who are feeling stressed, anxious, stuck, or just not quite themselves. Whether you’re navigating big life changes, relationship challenges, or figuring out what you want next, therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and start feeling more grounded. My approach is collaborative. I use tools from CBT and EMDR, but mostly I focus on really getting to know you, your story, your experiences, and what actually helps you feel better. I also take into account how culture, identity, and environment shape what we go through. My goal is to create a space where you can be open, explore what’s working (and what’s not), and feel supported in making meaningful change. If you’re curious about therapy but not sure where to start, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for my style and see if we’d be a good fit.
Welcome to Maroon Bells Counseling, where you will find a positive, supportive place to help you along your way to more satisfaction, wellness, and empowerment. College is hard in so many ways - academic stress, social pressures, relationship issues, family tensions, financial stress - especially in these extra challenging times - leading many students to feel their mental health is declining, and that can manifest as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, mood issues, academic issues, and more. I can help you take concrete, positive steps toward making the life you want, of health, success, and personal fulfillment. Counseling can be a life-saver, and I am here to support YOU.
I have been a School Counselor for 16 years and because of this I have worked with people dealing with many different things. I have an office and I can work with you in my office but I happy to meet with you anywhere.
I understand; you've tried everything. Instead of following the traditional medical model of diagnosing and labeling, I meet you where you are with embodied support to help you live a fully integrated life. I blend practices from East and West, neuroscience with spirituality, and movement with introspection. My work focuses on integrating all parts of you—body, mind, and soul—to build healthier relationships, improve your self-esteem, help you relate differently to anxiety and depression, reconnect with purpose and meaning, and come home to your body. I believe in the healing power of embodiment to recover from the hurt you've experienced. I specialize in compassionate, trauma-focused ketamine-assisted therapy to help you live a more present and embodied life. Trauma can manifest as nearly any form of stress held in the nervous system, from autoimmune conditions and chronic pain to anxiety and addiction. Ketamine-assisted therapy is an excellent option if you feel like you've tried everything but still feel stuck. It's a safe and legal therapeutic option for treating symptoms ranging from depression and anxiety to OCD and eating disorders. Ketamine-assisted therapy is a science-backed intervention that heals on a neurobiological level, creating more lasting and transformative change. As a therapist specializing in EMDR and somatic psychology, in addition to ketamine-assisted therapy, my goal is to get you back in your body. I want you to feel relief, not just in sessions, but for the days and weeks that follow. Trauma isn't just "in your head"; it leaves a very real biological imprint on your body, memory, and brain chemistry. Through somatic (ancient Greek for "body") psychotherapy, EMDR, and mindfulness-based practices, I help you find freedom from limiting beliefs, depression, anxiety, and addictive patterns. I offer in-person therapy to Seattle clients and virtual therapy throughout Washington and Colorado.
