Getting started can be overwhelming. My goal is to help you feel as comfortable as possible so we can go at your pace. I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and addiction. Many of my clients have tried to cope with difficult life changes by pushing their feelings away or finding short-term coping mechanisms that serve as a distraction. My role is to help people listen to and manage their emotions without feeling overwhelmed or ruled by them. Being personally in recovery from alcohol helps me understand and empathize with what you’re going through because I’ve probably been there too. I like to break down clinical approaches to collaboratively determine the best fit for each person’s unique goals. I incorporate elements of neurobiology, cognitive behavioral therapy, and schema work to help people better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives. If you're not sure what you're looking for yet, that's okay! Feel free to reach out to set up an introductory phone call to see if we're a good fit.

Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you are trying to balance school, work, relationships, family expectations, or figuring out what is next. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are and talk openly about what's on your mind. Together, we'll work on understanding what you are going through, managing stress, anxiety, and difficult emotions, and building practical skills to help you feel more confident and grounded. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, identity, and major life changes like college, starting a career, or simply learning how to navigate adulthood. Whether you are considering therapy for the first time or coming back after a break, my goal is to make the experience feel welcoming, collaborative, and helpful. I currently offer virtual therapy sessions for Michigan residents.

Even on campuses surrounded by other students, college and grad school can feel very isolating and overwhelming. Starting therapy might be the first step in acknowledging that you don't have to carry these challenges alone or without support. I am currently accepting new clients at Mindful Counseling Standale and online. I work with college students seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship & family challenges, emotional regulation, separation/attachment anxiety, life transitions, and identity development. I especially enjoy working with college students, and working adults as they navigate independence, college adjustment, academic and career pressures, and finding their identity. Whether you’re seeking support, clarity, or personal growth, I’m committed to partnering with you in the therapeutic process. My approach is integrative and individualized, drawing from CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based and somatic interventions, and person-centered therapy. I tailor treatment to each client’s developmental stage, with an emphasis on emotional regulation, insight, and building resilience through exploring your personal strengths. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. Therapy is a shared human experience in which we work together toward understanding, healing, and growth. I believe change happens through connection and collaboration. Email me to set up a consultation or talk more about my practice. The office is especially convenient for students! Located 5 min from GVSU Allendale campus, it is walkable from the Laker Line stop; as well as 15 minutes from GVSU downtown and Aquinas College. Looking forward to connecting with you!
