Making the step toward healing is a courageous choice, and in knowing how vulnerable this process can be, I strive to provide a safe, accepting environment for those who are ready to open themselves up to this growth. I believe that all humans are inherently worthy, and I will support you in uncovering this within yourself. There are many obstacles that can get in the way of aligning with your core values and the life you desire, and my goal is to guide you in the learning and unlearning process that can help reconnect you with your true self.

You know life has ups and downs, but the challenges you are facing can make it feel like an endless rollercoaster. Whether you are struggling with 'adulting' or other life changes, I completely understand your need for life to be easier. Through our time together, you can begin to feel a sense of calm and get back on track to living a purposeful life. As a therapist specializing in life changes & anxiety, I am committed to helping you find more life balance and a sense of inner peace. I work with both individuals and families. With two decades of experience, you can rest easy knowing you are in capable hands. Your life is hectic and choosing a therapist can be overwhelming. I want you to receive the best possible care, which means working with the RIGHT therapist (not just some random name from a list). That’s why I offer a free call to help you decide. If I'm not a fit, I can provide you with referrals. I primarily work with young adults and other helping professionals (teachers, nurses, physicians, and other therapists) who may be struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, family problems, and/or navigating difficult life changes. My clients typically begin to experience gradual relief within 2 months of weekly sessions. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy with strategies from many effective treatment types including ACT, Brainspotting, IFS Informed Parts Work, and Motivational Interviewing. You can expect your experience to be welcoming & casual (never super stuffy or formal). I believe in honoring each person's strengths & consciously creating a space where you can feel free to be your authentic self. Walk & Talk sessions are available in Flagstaff during summer months and in Chandler in the winter. **Now partnering with Mentaya for help in submitting your out-of-network insurance claims. I am committed to making therapy accessible by contracting with Lyra EAP, offering limited sliding scale slots, and accepting HSA and FSA funds. My educational background: 2001 Bachelor of Science in Psychology- University of Michigan-Flint 2006 Master of Social Work University of Michigan- Ann Arbor LCSW in Arizona since 2009

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by anger you couldn’t control, or so stressed that sleep felt impossible? You’re not alone—and you don’t have to go through it alone. I hear you. Your emotional well-being matters, and I’m here to support you in becoming a healthier, more grounded version of yourself. I hold a graduate degree in Counseling from Michigan State University and have experience working with college students and adults facing concerns such as anger management, stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, multicultural challenges, and childhood trauma. I believe healing happens best in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment, where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. In therapy, I focus on truly understanding your story. Together, we will explore what’s happening within you, increase self-awareness, and develop practical coping skills tailored to your needs. Our work will be collaborative and goal-oriented, helping you feel more confident, emotionally balanced, fulfilled, and alive in your daily life. I offer therapy in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese(我提供中英文咨询服务), and I am mindful of cultural identity and multicultural experiences in the therapeutic process. I also offer flexible scheduling to better fit your needs. If you’re looking for support with emotional regulation, stress, or personal growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Do you feel something is missing from your life? Do you feel you have lost your way and are unsure where to go next? Do you find yourself asking: “where did I go wrong” or “what matters to me anymore?” Clients may find their usual coping skills are no longer sufficient, have unintentionally relinquished their autonomy, be stuck due to unaddressed trauma, or have never found the time to look within and get to know themselves. Sessions with me are oriented around thought-provoking questions and free association. The process is highly client-driven as anything on your mind could merit deeper exploration. My preference is always to seek out the root problems, or at least the symptoms and patterns that will grant us the most headway. This process can take time, but my goal is for you to leave therapy with enough self-assurance and resilience to be your own therapist!

Hello my name is Maureen, and I’m a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of psychotherapy experience, and everyone is welcome in my practice. I live in Lapeer County, Michigan and have strong ties to Detroit and surrounding area. My therapy practice is via telehealth. I’ve worked with people who have had a wide range of challenges and who needed the help of a compassionate and skilled therapist. Because of my many years of working with a very diverse population of people, I’ve been able to create a very eclectic style that I believe takes the best of each therapy model and am able to create a very tailored treatment for each person who allows me to help them on their journey. I help people to recognize and utilize their strengths and believe that people have the best answers for themselves and need to learn how to find them and use them for their continued growth. I love using interventions that combine supportive and goal directed strategies as well as focusing on the mind-body connection. My favorite form of therapy is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I’m also trained in Attachment Therapy, EMDR, CBT and many others. I’ve always invested a lot of time and energy into improving my skills for the benefit of my clients, so I frequently attend continuing education seminars and conferences. I’m an Open Path provider (for people who need to pay based on their ability to afford it). I'm also a Give an Hour provider and donate pro-bono services for our military, veterans and their families. I value the opportunity to help everyone get the therapy that they need.

Most of my clients are from BI&POC or LGBTQIA+ communities. I strive to create an unconditionally affirming and accepting therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable to explore whatever you need to in order to heal and find your path to liberation. I work diligently to equalize the power dynamics within the therapeutic relationship, and I strive to act more as a collaborator that works with clients to identify their strengths, values, and beliefs. I utilize a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive/decolonization framework to support clients in their journeys toward growth, authenticity, empowerment, and self-acceptance. I recognize the significant effects that organizational structures and cultural contexts can have on the health and wellbeing of individuals, and also how these structures can negatively impact our perception of ourselves. In addition to my work with general mental health, I am also a sex therapist and sexuality educator. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and kink/BDSM/poly friendly. Please visit my website to learn more about my philosophy and values, and for information on fees and services. Please visit my website to learn more and submit an inquiry through the contact form. I do not respond to any other inquiries other than the ones I receive directly through my website.

College is the ultimate life experience, but it can also cause a lot of anxiety, doubt, confusion, and feelings of inadequacy. It also brings along questions of “am I good enough,” “did I choose the right path,” and “how am I going to get through this”? Guess what? These are all normal feelings and thoughts that every college student experiences to some degree or another, and I am here to help you navigate them! However, what happens if tragedy strikes, or you find yourself struggling with disabling anxiety, or chronic pain and/or illness? That was the predicament I found myself in during Graduate School. I received a Traumatic Brain Injury along with a Spinal Injury halfway through my MSW. I thought it was all over for me, I thought I was going to fail out of school, and was told I could never work in the field of social work. Well, I’m here to tell you they were WRONG! I made it through all the trials and tribulations, graduated with Honors, and I am here to help you navigate your struggles and help you continue to pursue your dreams! If you are struggling with daily college life, are experiencing debilitating mental health issues, or are trying to power through chronic pain and/or illness to acquire your college degree and make your dreams come true I am here to help you on your journey!

Hi, I'm Elizabeth (she/her) and I'm glad you're here. Life is full of changes that can leave us feeling overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, depression and uncertainty. We are all doing the best we can with the tools we have available. If you’re thinking about learning alternative ways to navigate life, therapy is here so you don’t have to do it alone. Starting exactly where you are, learn to be present in the here-and-now without judgement. We will explore your values & stuck-points to strengthen your connection to your inner-wisdom. This will be the foundation that helps change your relationship to stress, worry, anxiety, food, body image, addiction, and strengthen your relapse prevention plan. Finding a therapist that’s right for you can be overwhelming, it also shows that you have self-awareness! I take special care to respond to all calls/texts/emails inquiring about therapy. You and your healing journey are important. I provide LGBTQ+ and identity affirming care.
