In my experience working with people from different countries, I’ve seen the importance of providing a safe space where you can be yourself, feel understood and accepted regardless of your culture, religion, race, gender identity, sexual preference, or background. A good therapeutic relationship and a common comprehension of what led you to start therapy, will allow us to guide the therapy process, integrate techniques from different therapies, and give you a better grasp of how to achieve your goals. I’m Bilingual in English and Spanish, I have a master’s degree in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and an Advanced Certification in Schema Therapy. I draw from an integrative psychotherapy orientation, that allows the integration of other evidence-based therapies/techniques.

I specialize in working with college students, young adults, individuals, and couples navigating trauma, academic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance use, and life transitions. I have experience providing services in College Counseling and Psychological Services settings, where I’ve supported students through personal, relational, and academic challenges. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative. I use EMDR along with other evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), to support holistic healing and emotional well-being. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can process their experiences, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

My approach begins with the understanding that connecting with one’s self and others is a pathway toward finding meaning and fulfillment. This pathway of connecting can become blocked by old emotional wounds or current relationship struggles. The partnership formed in the therapy relationship becomes the platform where healing broken connections may occur. This approach can help bring about lasting change by getting at the ‘root’ of the problem and bring relief from symptoms. Central to Chris’ approach is a concern for the role that faith and belief play in the life of the patient. My practice is shaped by his time training at Northwestern University, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago. My approach to working to help people change comes primarily from a model for psychotherapy where tending to feelings, symptoms, and patterns of relating becomes an important part of the healing process. In our first conversation, you can expect to briefly discuss your concerns as well as set up an initial meeting. The first meeting is where your concerns and history are better understood in order to offer specific recommendations and feedback.

Do you often feel weighed down by feelings of stress, anxiety or depression? Are overwhelming emotions, thoughts, and behaviors interfering with your daily functioning or relationships? Perhaps you were diagnosed with a serious disease/illness, struggling with grief and loss, or suffering from chronic pain? Sometimes life can be overwhelming to the point that you feel stuck or you find it difficult to cope. I am here to help you address a range of issues, overcome obstacles, and embrace a new journey of growth and healing. I offer a warm, empathetic, non-judgmental approach in a safe environment for you to share your innermost thoughts and feelings that are consuming your mind. You will learn new ways to manage challenging emotions and complex thought-processes, adjust to life changes, improve connections with others, and learn other tools to help achieve better mental and emotional well-being. I am passionate about helping others by creating a therapeutic alliance with my clients to offer support and work collaboratively to create goals unique to their needs to improve their quality of life and help restore functioning. I have five years of clinical experience supporting adults to reduce emotional stress and symptoms resulting from challenging life experiences. I have worked in multiple settings: in private practice I have worked with individuals with depression, anxiety, anger/mood issues, and low self-esteem; in Community Mental Health I have provided case management and psychotherapy with older adults with severe and persistent mental illness such as depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar with medical comorbidity; in medical settings, including a veterinary hospital in which I worked with end of life issues and facilitated a pet grief/loss support group; as well as a Family Reunification Program and substance abuse treatment, both with individuals and groups.

I have spent most of my life surrounded by people who are uncomfortable with or unwilling to discuss their bodies and sexual desires. This has always felt like an injustice as having a someone that you feel comfortable discussing sex with can be a very healing and enlightening experience. Our bodies and sex are inherent parts of self and I believe that your relationship to and understanding of your body is one of your core forms of knowing yourself. To understand your desires, or lack thereof, is to better understand yourself as a whole. I enjoy working with people who wish to understand themselves better on a sexual level. If you are someone who is working to unpack purity culture, working to reclaim your body after a sexual assault, working through discrepancies in sex drives with your partner, working to have an organism, or you are exploring kink I would love to be the person who provides you with a comfortable and safe space to do so. Another one of my passions is exploring the relationship between ADHD, Autism, and neurodivergence with your ability to experience both sexual desire and sexual gratification as it is largely under-discussed and deeply important. I would love to work with you as you figure out what that relationship looks like for you, and how desire and sex function with your specific wants and needs. The more you learn about and understand your relationship with desire, the more comfortable and confident you can feel in and out of the bedroom. Gaining the confidence to own what you want, or even understand why you want it, will help you gain a sense of freedom. You deserve to feel confident in your relationship with your bodily autonomy. I cannot wait to work with you as you empower yourself in your body, in your sex life, and your life as a whole.

College can be an exciting time, but it also comes with challenges—academic stress, big life transitions, relationship struggles, and pressure to figure out the future. Many students I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to manage their emotions and responsibilities. Some struggle with anxiety that makes it hard to focus, depression that drains their motivation, or past experiences that continue to impact their daily life. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. I specialize in helping young adults work through anxiety, depression, and trauma using an integrative, practical approach. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back, develop strategies to help you feel more in control, and work toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling. My goal is to create a supportive, judgment-free space where you can be yourself, gain clarity, and build confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges.
