Dr. Kennedy-Ball graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology in 2014. Though her academic focus was primarily on treatment for children and adolescents, her professional experiences have allotted her the opportunities to work with vast populations (children, adolescents, teens, adults, and geriatrics) suffering from various disorders (Mood Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Neurocognitive Disorders, etc.). She has practiced in several settings including, outpatient, inpatient, community mental health, and residential treatment utilizing individual, family, and group therapy modalities. As a clinician, she focuses on collaborative and client centered treatment, as it allows for improvement in all facets of a client’s quality of life. Further, it fosters her ability to work holistically towards a client’s personal and family goals in unique and effective ways, as there is greater opportunity for therapeutic rapport and sense of personal control over challenges. She utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach, though has become more attune to hybrid interventions that best suit individual needs. She has been a Certified Brain Injury Specialist for several years and continues to strive towards serving this population.
Do you feel like no matter how hard you try, it’s still not enough? Maybe you’re stuck in a cycle of self-doubt, anxiety, or low mood that keeps you from truly enjoying life. Old wounds or difficult past experiences may still affect your relationships, self-worth, or ways of coping, making it hard to find stability and peace. Despite all your efforts, that deep sense of confidence and inner calm remains hard to find. In our work together, we can explore these patterns and underlying challenges, using effective approaches like CBT, DBT and EMDR therapy to help address and heal past trauma and unhelpful belief systems. If these struggles resonate, I’m here to help. My practice focuses on supporting individuals facing challenges with self-worth, anxiety, depression, life transitions and the impact of past trauma. In our work together, we’ll dive into these patterns, uncover their roots, and develop practical strategies for healing and growth. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Together, we’ll work toward a stronger, more confident you—ready to meet life’s challenges with resilience and embrace your true worth.
College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Many of the students I work with are trying to figure out their career path while also managing stress, anxiety, or feeling down. You might be questioning your major, worrying about the future, struggling with social anxiety, or feeling pressure to keep everything together while balancing school and life. I work best with college students who want a supportive place to talk through what they’re experiencing and learn practical ways to cope with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty about their next steps. Together, we focus on helping you feel more confident in your choices, manage difficult emotions, and build skills that make college—and life beyond it—feel more manageable.
Are you experiencing emotions that are difficult to manage on your own? I specialize in helping you learn to cope with overwhelming emotions, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, boundaries, anxiety, and chronic illness. I integrate evidence-based practices to guide you through roadblocks that keep you stuck. My therapeutic approaches are CBT, strengths-based, and integrative; meeting you where you are at, and assisting you with where you want to be. I obtained my Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Michigan, with a focus on mental health and integrated health. My ultimate goal is to offer a safe, comfortable, and open approach to heal. My therapeutic style focuses on “whole body healing.” I understand reaching out for help can be difficult. I encourage you to contact me if you are considering treatment. If I cannot be of assistance, I will gladly assist you with a referral.
Many mental health issues are related to a trauma response in the brain and body. Trauma is often conceptualized as one single event or experience that causes intense fear or distress. However, not all people who experience these kinds of events develop trauma symptoms, and many people who do experience trauma symptoms cannot identify a single event such as this. Another way to understand trauma symptoms is that they occur when an individual’s context overwhelms their nervous system’s ability to cope. This forces the nervous system to utilize strategies to try to bring the body back into balance. These strategies are usually useful or adaptive in the moment, but unhealthy and disruptive in the long run. The coping patterns can be related to addiction, disordered eating, the way we emotionally engage in relationships, or the chronic up-regulation (anxiety) or down-regulation (depression) of our nervous system. All are attempts to process the energy stored in the nervous system in response to stressors. Together we will utilize elements of mindfulness, somatic expression, Family Systems Theory, and Narrative therapy to develop new strategies to express emotion, regulate the nervous system, and communicate effectively with ourselves and with the people in our lives.
Do you have intrusive thoughts that just wont go away? Always feeling anxious, distressed or even embarrassed by the thoughts. Do you feel the pull or urge to perform a certain task, maybe even a certain way to avoid feelings? You find yourself going over the same worse case scenario again and again. Anxiety and fear can be debilitating and keep you from living the life you want. You don't have to suffer anymore. I look forward to teaching you the tools so you can live the life you want.

My heart for hurting people was birthed out of my own journey of experiencing healing from trauma, abuse and loss. I am convinced that all of us are created with a potential for incredible resilience and with the right kind of compassionate support, we can bounce back from the worst of circumstances. I grew up in India and after moving to the US in 2001, received a M.A. in Professional Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Over the last 2 decades, I have enjoyed working with children and adults in various settings such as schools, women's shelters, colleges, churches and private practice. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, cooking and enjoying conversations over a good meal with friends and family.
