We can reach a point in our lives that we become so overwhelmed, so bogged down with Anxiety, Depression, or traumatic and stressful life situations that we must take time to heal. Our therapists come from a variety of backgrounds to help you address your mental health needs. We can help you navigate situational stressors such as life transitions, stress with home or work, grief and loss, or can help you deal with mental health conditions that can adversely impact your life.
Thoughtful support. Genuine connection. Practical change. We offer trauma-informed care in person in Northeastern Pennsylvania and across the state via telehealth, drawing on evidence-based talk therapy and body-based approaches. Whether healing looks like processing, practicing new skills, or working with the nervous system, we’ll support you with what you are carrying.
College can be an exciting time of growth and possibility, and it can also bring uncertainty, pressure and questions about who you are and where you're headed. I work well with students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from themselves or others, or are struggling to make sense of what they're experiencing. You may be going through a difficult transition, struggling in a relationship, questioning your sense of identity or purpose, or simply finding that life feels harder than you expected. As a doctoral-level psychologist-in-training, I believe therapy begins with a genuine relationship where you can feel safe enough to be yourself. My style is warm, collaborative, and curious. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of what you're going through, and explore patterns in your relationships and everyday life. My role is not to tell you who you are or who you should be, but to help you better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and explore new possibilities. Therapy can be a place to work through difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, develop practical ways of coping, and explore what gives your life meaning. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply want to understand yourself more deeply, I'd be glad to walk alongside you.
Specializing in the treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive related disorders, I value the importance of utilizing evidence-based treatments to help you live your valued life. I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and seek to cultivate this through trust, respect, and empathy. During our work, you’ll learn to utilize practical strategies to help you cope, identify and work though unhelpful thinking patterns, reengage with areas of your life that have been avoided, and improve your overall confidence.

Welcome to The Hawthorne Center! We are a private practice run by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Chelsea Mazzotta. We offer in-person services in Allison Park, PA, and virtual services throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and The District of Columbia. Our practice specializes in working with folks who are interested in processing how their families, communities, and other systems have shaped them. We understand that trauma also includes "isms"- such as racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and other forms of oppression that impact us throughout our lives. We love working with college students, young adults beginning their careers, and specialize in working with polyamorous individuals/couples, LGBTQ folks, and women. We also specialize in working with first-responders- those working in fields or training to work in fields such as healthcare/medicine, law enforcement, therapy/counseling, and other first responders. We are in-network with most UPMC, Highmark/BCBS, Optum, United, and Aetna plans in Pennsylvania. In DC and Ohio, we may accept some of the above plans or may be out of network (depending on your location). We are able to offer superbills if you would like to utilize out-of-network or private pay options. Questions about superbills? Please ask! Please reach out with questions! We'd be happy to chat.

If you’re feeling anxious, burned out, unsure of who you are, or just stuck, you’re not the only one—and you don’t have to go it alone. 💬 What We Talk About Students I work with often share: Academic and social anxiety Burnout and perfectionism Identity questions around gender, culture, or sexuality Family and relationship struggles That lingering “What’s wrong with me?” feeling 🌱 What to Expect I keep things warm, open, and straightforward—no psychobabble. We’ll move at your pace, and talk about what matters most to you. This space is about feeling heard, not judged. ✨ Why You Might Feel at Home Here You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. If you’re thoughtful, curious, or just tired of keeping it all in—this could be the support you’ve been looking for.

On our journey it can be helpful to have someone to help us see the narratives that often define our lives. Some of those narratives keep us from experiencing what we want for ourselves now and in the future. Since graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2010, I have been working as a therapist with people in various stages of life. A relationship between a therapist and client can provide someone with a deep reflection of how they live and are experienced. I believe therapy can give us the opportunity to rediscover our story in a new way. Real change is possible and the therapeutic relationship is one of the ways to cultivate that change. Areas of experience and interests: ADHD, adults, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family of origin concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, mother abandonment, parenting, sexuality, sexual and physical trauma, trauma recovery Fee: I offer a sliding scale fee Insurances Accepted: United Healthcare, UPMC, Cigna, Highmark Therapeutic Style: Relational Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Family Systems Contact Autumn directly at 412-606-1887 or autumnkrusebrownlee@gmail.com
