Hi! — I'm really glad you found your way here. College life can be amazing, but it can also be seriously overwhelming. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship struggles, past trauma, or just trying to figure things out, you're not alone. I've spent the past 20 years working with teens and young adults through all kinds of ups and downs. My goal is to give you a safe, honest space to talk, process, and start feeling more like yourself again. If faith is important to you, I also offer Christian counseling as part of our work together — but it's always up to you. No pressure, no judgment — just support for wherever life has you right now.
The choice to seek therapy demonstrates an openness to growth and commitment to well-being. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment in which I understand that each of us has a unique set of strengths and challenges that shape who we are and how we experience relationships. In my collaborative work with individuals, couples, young children, and families, we focus on developing insight and establishing new strategies to overcome difficult patterns or concerns.
My name is Erick Pena. I struggled with depression and anxiety for about 20 years, and it wasn't until I read a book called "Getting Past Your Past" by Francine Shapiro that everything started to make sense. As a therapist, I offer traditional talk therapy, but I am incredibly passionate about EMDR therapy. I believe that in the same way talk and EMDR therapy have helped me deal with the negative symptoms that plagued my life for so long, they can also help you.

My hearts desire is to walk along side people when life is hard (because it is hard for everyone, at some point) and help them find the peace and joy they desire. My foundation, my rock is Faith and that is at the core of who I am. But I know that is not everyone’s truth and I have worked with so many people who have different beliefs. When I worked in hospice, there was always a spiritual component, we always asked patients what their meaning of life is. Whatever that is for you, I want to walk along side of that. My experience as a coach, a youth leaders, an oldest of four daughters...I have seen so many young girls seeking for something that is missing. Seeking for a sense of belonging, seeking for Love and sense of worthiness. I want to help you discover that. I want to walk this hard journey with you. We are not meant to do this life alone.
The clients I've worked with that have reported the greatest success all have one thing in common: They tried their hardest in and out of session to challenge themselves. I firmly believe that every person has the answers they are searching for within themselves. I often work with clients to build up their faith & trust within themselves so that they no longer go through life second guessing everything they do. During the young adult stage of life people often believe that they are supposed to have everything in their life figured out. I believe that if you really work hard at getting to know yourself, you will have all the tools you'll need to figure out what is best for you going forward.

Accepting NEW Clients. I’m a bisexual, cis Asian woman and first-gen college grad from a low-income family. As an immigrant, I know how heavy it can feel to carry so many layers of identity. I’ve had my own journey with mental health and trauma, and I bring that lived experience into my work with empathy and zero judgment. I’m LGBTQIA-affirming, sex-positive, and passionate about creating a space where you can show up fully as yourself. Art and drawing have been healing tools for me and I believe in the power of creativity to support growth and self-expression. I accept clients where they are and hold a nonjudgmental open minded, safe space for each person. As an alternative therapist, I am deeply committed to authenticity and utilizing my lived experience to emphasize that you are not alone. My primary focus is serving young and emerging adults, helping navigate life changes, stressors, hormones, and adjusting to adulthood.
